Before there were laboratory made chemicals and heavy synthetic greases, there was Eleanor Scott Byrd, my grandmother’s grandmother affectionately called Aunt Gnome by everyone.

Aunt Gnome was a well known healer, prayer warrior, and seer who was born with “a veil over her face.” In her community, her home was a sanctuary for those seeking restoration, justice, or healing. She understood the language of the earth. She used roots and herbs to heal the body and spirit. But Eleanor’s magic didn’t stop at wellness and justice. She was also celebrated for her cosmetic elixirs, hand crafted to bring life, and luster back to the hair and skin. 

Crown of Ori is the modern evolution of Eleanor’s work. I’ve taken her ancestral wisdom and made it accessible to you as a way to honor my lineage that started generations ago.
